Join our team as the Corporate Administration & Shire President Executive Assistant, where you’ll provide proactive, high-level support to the Shire President and Elected Members. You'll play a key role in coordinating Council activities, managing communications and ensuring seamless administrative operations. The exciting new role of Corporate Administration & Shire President Executive Assistant offers a unique opportunity to be at the heart of the Shire’s operations, with three primary areas of responsibility that will allow you to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment: 1. Corporate Administration Take the lead in coordinating and preparing agendas and minutes for Ordinary Council Meetings and a diverse range of Committee meetings, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Manage and maintain accurate records, ensuring all documents comply with legislative requirements and organisational standards. Assist with the preparation of reports, public notices and projects 2. Executive Assistance to the Shire President Manage the Shire President’s diary and travel arrangements with precision, ensuring seamless scheduling and coordination. Foster and build key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, playing a pivotal role in supporting the Shire President’s leadership activities. Provide research, reporting and coordination support to ensure the Shire President is informed and aligned with ongoing Council activities and community engagement. 3. Support for Elected Members Act as a key liaison, facilitating smooth communication between Elected Members and Shire Administration, enhancing collaboration and efficiency. Assist in booking training and development programs for Elected Members, ensuring their continuous growth and engagement.   • Knowledge of the Local Government Act 1995 and associated regulations or relevant experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to autonomously manage and deliver discreet projects and assist in the management and delivery of projects
  • Strong written, verbal and word-processing skills
  • Experience in preparing agendas and minutes, with a willingness to attend out-of-hours meetings and events
  • Strong multi-tasking, time management and conflict resolution skills
  • The capacity to build positive, collaborative relationships in a fast-paced setting

Experience in Local Government will be highly regarded.
