The Role

We are seeking to recruit a talented commercial, contracting and procurement practitioner who can drive commercial outcomes for delivery and sustainment of digital services in Defence.

As the Assistant Director Procurement and Contracting, you will be responsible for the provision of commercial, contracting and procurement advice and support into commercial strategies, development of Approach to Market documentation, conduct of procurement including evaluation, negotiation and probity support as well as commercial support in relation to contract management issues and risks. In addition, you will be responsible for the coordination and management of specialist advice including legal, financial and Australian Industry Capability.

You will work independently with reasonable autonomy and be accountable for achieving your deliverables. You will exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures.

About our Team
Defence’s primary mission is to protect Australia and its national interests, promote security and stability in the world and support the Australian community as directed by the Government. The South East Zone is one of three zones within the Service Delivery Division that provide essential, on-the-ground services and support to Defence personnel around Australia.

We enable Defence personnel to achieve their mission through delivery of excellent services across Defence, and we play a role in helping the Government achieve its strategic objectives. The Directorate of Digital Service Delivery (DDSD) is responsible for delivering innovative digital service delivery solutions to meet business needs and customer expectations. DDSD operates in partnership with industry to develop digitally centric integrated service delivery solutions based on the voice of the customer to simplify guide and integrate the user experiences across Defence. DDSD is responsible for managing ServiceConnect, the DCAC Portal and Posting Connect.
