About the role

The Account Manager is a strong sales lead, with a passion for seeking out new business and expanding existing business across the digital, social, and experiential spaces. Based in Melbourne, you are responsible for building relationships and engagement with priority agencies and key clients. You are able to navigate and identify opportunities across these networks to build a strong pipeline to support growth in VIC.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Commercial Director, and wider commercial team who are based in Sydney. As the lead commercial representative in Melbourne supporting our VIC based clients, it is critical to share learnings, insights, and opportunities. This is encouraged across the team to help identify strategies to drive success.

This position demands a creative, detail-oriented individual who can effectively develop and market new and existing commercial opportunities, ultimately aiming to enhance Time Out’s presence and influence within Victoria.

Key Responsibilities

Continuously develop and maintain a pipeline of business from both agency and direct clients.Prospect commercial leads by utilising online and offline sources to cultivate new businessProvide exceptional client service to all of Time Out’s current and prospective clients.Develop strong networks within the agency environments in order to secure briefsProduce and craft brief responses to agency and direct business in conjunction with creative solutions, commercial content where necessary.Attend key events,networking opportunities and represent Time Out in marketDrive the full sales and partnerships cycleWork with sales support including the Ad Ops, Campaign Management, Creative Solutions and Editorial teams.Consistently remain up to date with industry news and movementsHave the ability to handle a heavy workload, exceed client and internal expectations and be service focusedContinually network and grow as a brand advocate within the industry they representProvide leadership & hands on management to small team of sales professionals based in Sydney

This role depends upon excellent interpersonal communication skills, creative thinking, entrepreneurial mindset, strong project management skills and sector knowledge – all of which Time Out expects will continuously develop with time in the role. You will be passionate about the advertising industry, have deep connections in NSW Agencies, and be a strong people/experience oriented professional.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.4+ years of experience in account management or sales roles.Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.Experience building a sales pipeline and managing a book of businessStrong negotiation and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
