The Family Service Family Violence role:
The role involves the provision of an in-home family service, working in partnership with families with the aim of strengthening parenting capacity and family resilience particularly for families who have experienced or are experiencing family Violence's. The work involves taking steps to reduce risks to children's safety and wellbeing and that of other family members, as well as working with families to empower them to enhance their parenting capacity and family functioning and therefore to improve outcomes for children. As the Family Violence specialist you work take on complex cases, work closely with local Family Violence services as well as providing consults and training to other Practitioners in the Program.
The skills you will use day to day:
Providing support to colleagues in the team including consults and training Your in depth understanding of family violence and the impacts on children Skills in working with victim survivors as well as people using violence to promote safety Understanding of the social context of child abuse and neglect Applying relevant theoretical approaches to deliver outcomes Conduct risk and needs assessments using relevant and contemporary frameworks, theory, and practice models Case recording, data collection, registration standards and other requirements Partner with the family and the care team to develop and review action plans aimed at improving outcomes Active engagement of vulnerable children, youth and families and delivering a range of interventions to improve their outcomes Skills in case management, including developing community linkagesWhat makes this such a great role for you:
You get a salary starting at around $102,000. Negotiable through the increments dependent upon experience. With salary packaging available up to $15,900 plus an entertainment card.
