St Paul's Catholic College, Manly is currently seeking a passionate and skilled Head of Department - Diverse Learning Support. This is a permanent teaching role with a temporary Coordinator 2 allowance for two years with potential to extend further.

St Paul's is experiencing high student growth due to its transition into a coeducation Catholic secondary school. The College requires additional staffing due to the increase in the number of students.

Specific Criteria

  • Capacity to contribute to the school’s Continuous Improvement Cycle and is committed to student achievement
  • Demonstrated collaborative leadership capacity to manage the individual teaching and learning programmes of students with diverse and complex learning needs.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster strong relationships with students, parents, staff and our Parish.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the executive team to lead, manage and implement whole school improvement processes and initiatives that address school and department priorities.
  • Highly effective in managing and facilitating safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive staff and student welfare practices

Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4 year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese.

Position on COVID-19 vaccinations

Given the current management of risks associated with COVID-19 in the community, and the gradual wind-back of some settings, CSBB has decided to no longer require all staff to be fully vaccinated, effective 19 September 2022. Staff who are not vaccinated will be required to wear masks when working with children at greater risk of serious illness owing to a medical condition and/or physical disability.
