Position Overview:
The APS6 Strategic Communications Project Officer will play a key role in supporting our communications team and ensuring the successful execution of projects. This role requires excellent communication skills, a solid understanding of project management, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with administrative tasks, adept at using Jira, and able to think on their feet in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the communications team with daily operational tasks and communications work
  • Provide project management support for various initiatives, ensuring timely and effective execution
  • Triage communications requests and prioritise tasks based on urgency and importance
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
  • Utilise Jira to track project progress, manage tasks, and communicate status updates
  • Contribute to process management by identifying and proposing new ideas and processes to enhance efficiency
  • Support change management efforts within the organisation, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions
  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and implement innovative solutions
  • Remain flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and workflows

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Previous experience in project management or supporting project teams
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar project management tools
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven administrative skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to think creatively and develop new processes
  • Experience in process management and change management
  • A proactive approach and the ability to think on your feet in a dynamic environment
  • Comfortable navigating change and adapting to evolving situations
