We’re looking for a dedicated and driven individual to join us as the North QLD State Poker Operations Manager. In this role, you’ll oversee all aspects of poker operations across North Queensland, ensuring seamless tournament execution, building strong partnerships with venues, and developing strategies to grow and engage our player base.

Where and How You Will Work
In this role, you'll be travelling in a company van, covering locations from Wide Bay up to Cairns to support and oversee poker operations across North Queensland.

Your day-to-day.

  • Organize, coordinate, and oversee poker tournaments across multiple venues in North Queensland, including executing satellite campaigns for The Ville600, NQ Classic, and APL Million events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with venue partners, ensuring compliance with APL standards and agreements.
  • Foster a positive player experience through excellent customer service and operational excellence.
  • Lead and motivate a team of tournament directors and staff to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and expansion of APL’s presence in Nth QLD.
  • Ensure all operations adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.

You’re a match if you have…

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in poker operations, event management, or similar roles within gaming or hospitality.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong organizational and logistical skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with players, venues, and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, and weekends, and travel across North Queensland as required.
  • Familiarity with poker industry practices, tournament structures, and North Queensland gaming regulations.
