In collaboration with the Project Manager, you will oversee a broad variety of Defence sector construction, refurbishment and remediation projects across the Newcastle and Hunter regions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for driving all day-to-day operations, as well as management of onsite activities from set up to completion. You will:

  • Monitor safety compliance and control quality aspects
  • Oversee cost control and efficient running of the projects
  • Coordinate subcontractors
  • Supervise the program to ensure alignment with deliverables
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on all documentation and progress (with support from a Site Engineer)

ABOUT YOU

Along with several years’ experience in a similar role within the building and construction industry (Defence construction and refurbishment experience highly regarded), to be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Previous experience managing a portfolio of multiple projects and site-based resources
  • Outstanding communication skills at all levels with the ability to form rewarding workplace relationships at all levels including the ability to negotiate and influence in a positive way
  • Leadership qualities with a proven ability to develop employees and build strong successful teams
  • Proficiency in Computer software including MS Suite (Excel, Word, Project)
  • Trade certification and/or construction management qualifications
