About the Role
You will be responsible for delivery of primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures. You will form part of a multidisciplinary team working toward the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members. You will play an integral role in assessing Defence personnel for fitness for duty and in the provision of care that will support the health and welling of members pre and post deployments. You will be required to provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO), Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager and Commanders of units. You will be supported by a Team of Senior Medical Officers and uniformed colleagues. You may be required to provide the services in either an outpatient setting or inpatient care setting within a ward.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
•    The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
•    Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
•    Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR, Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.
•    Minimum of 2 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
•    Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
•    Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.

About Richmond Health Centre

Richmond Health Centre is located at RAAF Base Richmond, the oldest Air Force base in NSW, 50 km north-west of Sydney and home to the C-130J Hercules medium transport aircraft. The facility provides primary medical, outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health and pharmaceutical services to Defence members.  The base also operates a 24-hour inpatient ward, which closes over the weekend. Standard operating hours are generally 0730-1630 Mon-Thurs, and 0730-1400 Friday (depending on role requirements).
