Position Summary

The Project Implementation Director is responsible for leading key cross-functional and strategic projects that deliver significant value to Peter Mac.

Essential Requirements   •    Health care experience /substantial experience of project delivery within the Health Industry;
  •    Demonstrated experience in Project Management, from implementation and transition to business as usual, in a complex organisational environment;
  •    Experience in implementing Clinical services
  •    Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams/staff (project and BAU);
  •    Demonstrated ability to deliver operational efficiencies via systems and services reviews;
  •    Business analysis experience with ability to map and improve processes;
  •    Demonstrated ability to perform data analysis, develop metrics and design reporting to drive continuous improvement;
  •    Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills, working with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  Desirable Requirements   •    Demonstrated experience in Project Governance with particular focus on issues and risk management;
  •    Qualifications in Project Management and Process Improvement methodologies, such as PMBok/BABok, Agile, Prince2, Lean, and the ability to apply them flexibility to deliver exceptional organisational outcomes.

Leadership & Management

  • Work with lines of business and program partners to identify the right resources, content experts and decision-makers to meet goals.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans that capture dependencies, cross program impacts and defined milestones that identify the project critical path.
  • Track and drive action items to completion, applying knowledge of the program goals to ensure work meets original expectations and scope.
  • As assigned, assist with and/or lead projects/workstreams of varying scope and size through entire project lifecycle.
  • Lead workstreams/efforts to evaluate and recommend reengineered future state processes related to different aspects of health service operations including workflow, escalations and metrics.
  • -    Co-ordinate project requirements covering all functional and non-functional aspects.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to input to the project plan.
  • Ensure solution being considered is aligned to the strategic direction and technology infrastructure.

Planning

  • Develop planning documentation outlining project scope, governance, schedule, approach, strategies and deliverables and budget.
  • Ensure effective management of issues/risks identified and agreed mitigation plans are approved
  • Ensure benefits realisation plan is defined
  • Ensure review and sign off by key stakeholders.

  • Ability to map process to identify gaps and implement improvements;

  • Work with the Executive Sponsor for the scheduling of committees;
  • Report on the project progress and using the projects tolerance level, highlight risks and issues that may impact on project cost, quality and timeline;
  • Escalate issues and risks outlining mitigation plans for action;
  • Matters relating to project, stakeholder or other resources are expedited with sensitivity and due care;
  • Team members are provided the direction, guidance and support so that ambiguity as to project scope, timelines and their role in the project is removed
  • Manage the design, build, testing and deployment phases of the project;
  • Lead the training and change management required for the successful implementation.

Data analysis, metric development and reporting

  • Ability to design and develop new reports;
  • Appropriate metrics are developed to drive change and monitor improvements.
  • Reports are designed to meet the needs of stakeholders across the organisation.
