Energy Queensland is the group of electricity distribution, retail, and energy services businesses 100% owned by the state of Queensland. We deliver electricity across Queensland through our ‘poles and wires’ businesses Energex and Ergon Energy Network. Our retailer, Ergon Energy Retail sells this electricity to customers throughout regional Queensland. And these essential service activities are supported by a range of innovative products and services delivered through our Yurika brand.

About your new role:

As the Senior Safety Advisor in the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) group, you will be responsible for working with the business to manage and deliver safety related projects and initiatives to support business performance. This will be done by working independently and collaboratively to propose strategies, research, plan, project manage, and lead the implementation of safety related standards, processes and practices.

You will be the health safety and environment business partner for our remote and embedded generation arm of the business. The role will have you influence both management and industrial partners in safety related process outcomes and will manage projects.

Additionally, you will support HSE contractor management processes, which may include onboarding contractors, and evaluating contract management systems. You will also act as a safety subject matter expert (SME) to leaders and key stakeholders.

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2024.
