About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Safety Advisor to join our Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) team at Energy Queensland. As a key member of our HSE group, you will play a critical role in managing and delivering safety-related projects and initiatives to support business performance.



Key Responsibilities


  • Work independently and collaboratively to propose strategies, research, plan, project manage, and lead the implementation of safety-related standards, processes, and practices.
  • Be the Health, Safety and Environment business partner for our remote and embedded generation arm of the business.
  • Influence both management and industrial partners in safety-related process outcomes and manage projects.
  • Support HSE contractor management processes, including onboarding contractors and evaluating contract management systems.
  • Act as a safety subject matter expert to leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Travel intrastate and interstate as required for projects.


Requirements


  • Degree qualification in Health, Safety and Environment or Project Management (or related discipline/demonstrable experience).
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, Codes of Practice, and Australian Standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work autonomously and self-motivate.
  • Ability to manage and negotiate with stakeholders, and problem-solve effectively.
  • Critical thinking and ability to apply it when assessing situations.
  • Experience in using HSE management systems and ability to leverage new technology.
