Taking on the role Associate with our Commercial Real Estate team, you will support two Directors to drive account management strategies targeted at delivering outstanding client service, executing large transactions, effecting global product mandates, while maintaining responsibility for day to day portfolio activities. 

Putting your credit analysis and financial modelling skills to good use, this is a rare opportunity to have exposure to a variety of highly complex banking solutions across the Real Estate market. You will be joining our Commercial Real Estate Finance team at an exciting time of growth, in an international banking environment. This role would best suit an individual passionate about a career in real estate finance, keen to develop into a relationship Director over time.

Assisting the relationship Directors, your main responsibilities will include: Engaging with both our existing and target clients to build and maintain strong relationships, identify client needs, and position the Bank’s solutions accordingly. Working with a range of inhouse global product specialists including, Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged and Syndicated Finance, Sustainable Finance, Global Markets, Trade & Receivables Finance, Liquidity & Cash Management, and Private Banking. Writing credit evaluations (new submissions, annual reviews) on our client set, including analysis of financial information and preparation of high-quality credit applications for general corporate and structured lending scenarios. Ensuring strong adherence to credit policies (including ongoing monitoring of clients), financial crime compliance and regulatory compliance. Providing support with instructing, negotiating and executing client facility documentation requirements, working with legal counsel as required. Developing and maintaining up to date knowledge on real estate market key trends and drivers. Coordinating with the team’s dedicated Portfolio Service Executive to ensure administrative tasks are completed in line with client requirements and internal reporting needs. Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Experience in a banking or financial setting in real estate, infrastructure or large corporate institutional finance (including credit fund, ratings agency, major accountancy firm, or investment bank). A fundamental understanding of key corporate banking products such as bilateral and syndicated loans, debt capital markets, sustainable finance, trade finance, transactional banking and treasury solutions. Proven capability in writing comprehensive, accurate and concise credit papers, including strength in financial modelling and sensitivity analysis. Familiarity with APLMA loan documentation and Australian security structures. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to build strong and lasting relationships. High levels of self-motivation, commitment and a desire to succeed. Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet transaction deadlines. A natural focus on providing superior customer service with a genuine desire to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations. A degree in Finance, Business, Accountancy, Law or related disciplines with related post graduate qualifications such as Master of Finance, CFA, CPA, or similar will be highly regarded.

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian or New Zealand PR/Citizenship, or who can show they currently have unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
