Sydney, Australia The Star Entertainment Group Full time

The Star Entertainment Group (TSEG) is a publicly listed company on the ASX. Our purpose is to create fun at trusted destinations and our aim is to deliver sustainable outcomes for our guests, our Team Members, the communities in which we exist and our shareholders. We do this by providing entertainment, gaming, and leisure experiences in a safe, responsible, and ethical way. We will do this by embedding our values to lead the organisation with a focus on safer gambling and good business practices.

Our properties across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sydney are world-class with many award-winning hotels, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues.

As our People Partner Manager, General Manager People Operations, you will closely collaborate with The Star Sydney’s corporate and operational functions and align them to the wider people strategy.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead an exciting transformation of our business partnering approach, reshaping how we operate between centralised and decentralised models. In this role, you will have no direct reports but will manage your own portfolio, playing a pivotal role in developing leadership capabilities while ensuring regulatory and governance requirements are met. You’ll also collaborate closely with the broader HR team, including Employee Relations, Learning & Development, and project consultants, to drive impactful change.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Embrace collaboration between the functional and property leaders to deliver a consistent, efficient, and proactive strategic people agenda together with the business
  • Partner closely with the leader to ensure that the People agenda is a priority and that the solutions meet the unique needs of the group or department
  • Prioritise and partner in building financially sound recommendations, across all aspects of People & Performance (P&P) that address both the immediate and the long-term needs
  • Understand the root cause of leadership needs and gather insights on behalf of the P&P team to inform the design and roll out of P&P initiatives
  • Coach, develop and empower leaders to perform as leaders, in addition to educating leaders particularly on the People operating model

What we will be looking for:

  • Proven work experience in a People Advisory role
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology or Organisational Development
  • Strong relationship, coaching, influencing and communication skills to build the development of leadership teams
  • Demonstrates a proactive business partnership, driven by a self-starter mindset and an unwavering can-do attitude

About you:

You are a natural collaborator and communicator, able to understand and explain complex business requirements and strategy and then work alongside leaders to ensure successful outcomes. You appreciate the unique needs of each business unit and are able to leverage your experience in a fast paced highly regulated work environment.

Your role will be pivotal in improving our employee experience through driving change and building leadership capability.

What can we offer you:

  • Complimentary meal on site every day, including hot meals, sandwich bar and more
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Up to 30% Discounts across award winning restaurants and accommodation
  • Lifestyle discounts including gym memberships and dry-cleaning services
  • An organisation that values diversity, teamwork and being your best self
  • Endless career growth and opportunities to learn and develop your career

Please be aware that eligibility checks are required as part of the recruitment process and ongoing employment for this position.
