About the Role

The Indigenous Projects Coordinator will collaborate with the Associate Dean, Indigenous and the Manager, Engagement and Partnerships to enhance the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology's Indigenous engagement portfolio and to enact the University of Melbourne’s strategic vision, Murmuk Djerring. Reporting to the Manager, Engagement and Partnerships, the role involves working with various stakeholders to develop initiatives, create operational plans, and execute activities that deepen Indigenous community engagement and promote Indigenous knowledge within the academic realm. The position primarily handles administrative coordination, supports planning, communication, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with University Indigenous leaders and Faculty stakeholders to implement Indigenous commitments in alignment with the University's Indigenous Strategy, Murmuk Djerring, through events, project contributions, communication materials, and administrative support.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have relevant educational background and demonstrated experience in Indigenous community engagement. They need to be culturally sensitive, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Strong project management and administrative abilities are essential. Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a dedication to diversity and inclusion are also important qualities for success in this role.

You will also have:

Completion of an undergraduate tertiary qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Strong demonstrated committee secretariat skills. Evidence of project management skills, including the ability to initiate, scope, plan and deliver project outcomes.
