UGL is seeking a dynamic P&C Manager for our Fuels & Energy East business. This role offers a unique blend of strategic leadership, operational management, and the opportunity to drive cultural change and a positive work culture. The role can be based out of our Melbourne Southbank or South Brisbane office.

Be involved in varied projects, from long-term fuel contracts to major shutdown projects, engineering improvements and critical maintenance operations. Work alongside operational leaders, contribute to big-picture improvements, and see the tangible impact of your efforts on the ground.

Your role will involve visiting client sites such as Esso and Chevron, ensuring that standards are met and engaging directly with our blue-collar workforce at some, more traditional worksites.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement P&C strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Provide expert advice on HR issues, including remuneration, retention, workforce planning, and succession planning, and lead a team of P&C professionals, providing guidance on recruitment, retention, and performance management.
  • Support and manage change initiatives, fostering enthusiasm and commitment.
  • Handle complex IR/ER issues, collaborating with our corporate IR team where appropriate.
  • Champion D&I initiatives, address cultural issues, and improve employee satisfaction.

About you

  • Extensive experience in HR, with solid ER/IR background from an organisation with a large blue-collar workforce.
  • Solid working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including remuneration and benefits, employee relations, performance management, recruitment and selection, training and development, talent management, organisation development and change management.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial environment, managing reactive and demanding situations diplomatically.
