EL1 Level Business Analyst

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced EL1 Level Business Analyst (Labour Hire) to join a prominent government agency based in Newcastle NSW.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work under broad direction and deliver high-quality outcomes across a range of complex functions.
You will be a key player in improving processes and systems to enhance participant experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and document current business processes to establish a baseline understanding.
- Conduct business and systems process analysis to facilitate process design improvements.
- Provide program/stream-level analysis and produce required analysis documentation.
- Support the Product Owner by elaborating user stories, acceptance criteria, and process maps.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of proposed solutions and designs.
- Lead the transition of business requirements to build teams for development.
- Support verification testing to ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Actively manage stakeholder relationships and represent the agency in various forums.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Business Process Analysis: Strong proficiency in analysing and documenting current and future state process maps.
- Requirement Gathering: Excellent ability to elicit, document, and manage business requirements into Epics and User Stories.
- Problem-Solving: Strong skills in identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements.
- Testing: Competence in conducting systems testing against defined acceptance criteria.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proven experience in facilitating workshops with stakeholders, Business Analysts, UX/UI Designers, and technology teams.
- Risk Assessment: Skilled in identifying potential risks, tracking issues, and recommending solutions.
- System Thinking: Ability to develop and maintain subject matter expertise across new systems and processes.
Desirable Skills:
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyse data to identify trends and insights.
- Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile or Kanban methodologies.
- Business Analysis Tools: Knowledge of tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Process Improvement: Experience in recommending and implementing process improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
