The Opportunity
Due to continued growth our client is seeking to appoint an Assistant Project Manager, working as part of the national team and reporting to the National Head of Project Management, based in Melbourne. 

While the long term strategy is to aquire and develop new builds across industrial and office, the current requirement is to manage large scale fit outs and reburbishments across their current portfolio, including but not limited to:

lobby refresh, end or trip facilities, tenancy fit outs, solar installations and general ESG initiatives to the exisiting portolio of properties 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the current team across all phases of the project from the initial establishment of projects to closing out projects.
  • Ensure all tasks and milestones are captured and managed and communicated to the project team and the other internal stakeholders (asset mgt, property mgt and facilities teams)
  • Attending PCG meetings with the PM 
  • Contract administration duties including, review budgets, undertaking variations, fee claims and reconciliations.
  • Support tender activities and compilation of documents
  • Management and coordination of contractors' activity of works undertaken on-site, preparing work packs and scheduling activities. 
  • Regular updates with various consultants
  • General administrative duties related to the project, WIP updates, filing and folder updating for various projects. 
  • Track works against vendor claims/invoices
  • co-ordinate with external consultants in relation to life cycle planning to maintain an accurate capital expenditure forecast
  • provide general administrative assistance to the PM team, dependant on the level of the candidate you may take ownership of your own projects

The Candidate

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in construction management, civil engineering, property or quantity surveying etc
  • c1 - 4 years of Project Management/Contracts Administration/Project Coordination experience across fit outs and refurbs would be HIGHLY desirable with some exposure to the core compencies of project management 
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.  This is a professional environment. 
  • A positive can do proactive attitude with a passion for developing their career in a progressive organisation. 
  • Would consider a candidate returning to work looking for 4 days a week. 
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, MS Project, Excel, Work and Procore experience preferred

This is a contract opportunity but there could be the ability for this role to go perm.  It is a fantastic opportunity to work along side the National Head of Project Management who is based in Melbourne.  This individual would  supporting them directly across projects in the Melbourne portfolio.

You must have prositive midset, be well presnted, have a high attention to detail and enjoy what you do to succeed in this role.
