We are currently seeking a Materials Manager to join our project team delivering the Darwin Ship Lift Facility This role will be based on our project site, in Darwin on a 15:6 roster.

You will be responsible for providing cost control technical expertise through timely monitoring, controlling, analysing and reporting of project cost & progress information with strong focus on trending, forecasting and management of change to contribute towards proactively influencing cost outcomes on the project.

Your focus will include:

  • Oversee the inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies to prevent shortages and minimise excess
  • Implement inventory control measures to optimize stock levels and reduce holding costs
  • Plan and coordinate the transportation of materials to and from the construction site
  • Optimise transportation routes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
  • Coordinate with construction teams to ensure materials are stored in appropriate locations for easy access
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand material requirements and timeline

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years minimum experience in logistics and material management, preferably in construction projects or chemical plants.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, transportation logistics, and supply chain best practices
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
