The role of Senior Accountant, Group Reporting and Advisory is principally responsible for providing high quality technical accounting advice, build, maintain and apply portfolio of enterprise-wide accounting policies and supporting response to changes in accounting standards (including sustainability reporting standards). The role will also actively lead and contribute to supporting team projects and deliverable as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounting advisory:Use your commercial acumen and technical accounting expertise to provide high quality advice to the business on the accounting treatment of non-standard transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and disposals.
  • Accounting policies: build, maintain and apply portfolio of enterprise-wide accounting policies. Ensure accounting policies continue to be fit for purpose as the business evolves.
  • Sustainability reporting:Working alongside the sustainability reporting team, the role will contribute to the assessment, plan and implementation of controls and processes to ensure is compliant with existing and emerging ESG reporting requirements.
  • Learning and Development: Actively contribute to the professional growth and continuous learning of the broader finance team.
  • Stakeholder Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of seniority and across business lines.
  • Auditors:Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process, ensuring all financial reporting is in line with required standards.
  • Board Level Reporting:Prepare and co-ordinate board-level reports that provide strategic insights into the key judgements applied by the group.
  • Project Management:Oversee and manage reporting-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Industry Knowledge:Develop an advanced understanding of the energy sector to inform financial reporting practices, ensuring they reflect industry-specific challenges and opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Experience with large ERP systems - preferably SAP.
  • Qualified Accountant (CA/CPA).
