The Role:

Reporting to the General Manager – Finance, as the Divisional Planning and Reporting Manager your main responsibilities include the ownership and management of Visy Recycling’s centrally managed accounting tasks as well as planning & reporting functions. This includes but is not limited to business analysis, monthly reporting, mid-month estimate forecasting and annual budget planning.

This is a highly varied role where you will guide a small team of 2 and work closely with the wider Finance Team on projects as they arise to achieve continuous improvement and deliver value add to the Visy Recycling division. 

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Preparation, maintenance, and oversight of all daily, weekly, and monthly management reporting
  • Coordinate the monthly Mid-Month Estimate (MME), annual full-year forecast, budget, and five-year plan processes, ensuring data completeness and integrity
  • Complete all bridging, analysis, and explanation and present to Management in the Budget review process.
  • Maintain Hyperion, Microsoft Access & SAP reporting system.
  • Review all State balance sheets on a rotating schedule to identify risk areas and implement corrective actions
  • Review of plant audits, stock takes, self-assessments, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Engagement with wider teams to support key analyses such as volumes, sales, capital expenditure, expense control, and other ad hoc reviews

What you will bring to the team:

  • Tertiary Qualified in Finance / Business or related discipline essential
  • CPA/CA qualified with solid experience working in a similar accounting role
  • A minimum 10 years’ experience in senior accounting role overseeing or leading a team
  • Strong experience in planning/reporting processes and systems in a medium to large organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in report preparation and presentation to key internal and external stakeholders/clients
  • Very strong Excel skills and having worked with SAP and/or Hyperion is highly advantageous
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
