Our client is a Tier 1 client in Financial Services sector. They are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with deep expertise in the investment & financial services industry. The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and translating business requirements into actionable insights, ensuring that investment strategies, processes, and systems align with business goals. This individual will collaborate with stakeholders across portfolio management, trading, IT, and operations teams to optimize workflows, implement system enhancements, and support the firm’s strategic investment initiatives.

This role requires someone with a strong understanding of financial markets, investment products, and a proven track record in managing and delivering business analysis within complex, data-driven environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the process of gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements related to investment operations, portfolio management, trading platforms, and reporting.
  • Work with IT and investment teams to design, implement, and optimize investment management systems, ensuring they support current and future business needs.
  • Analyze investment data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement, and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with investment teams, compliance, legal, risk management, and technology to ensure smooth execution of business initiatives.
  • Drive process improvements across the investment lifecycle, focusing on increasing operational efficiency, mitigating risks, and enhancing profitability.
  • Lead and support project management activities for investment-related initiatives, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Create detailed functional specifications, business process documents, and reports to ensure clear communication and understanding across teams.
  • Ensure that all investment operations and systems are aligned with regulatory requirements and manage any compliance risks through appropriate analysis and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • 8 to 10 years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst, ideally within the investment management, asset management, and financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial products (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives, private equity, etc.) and investment management processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify key insights.
  • Strong understanding of investment workflows, portfolio management, risk management, and trading operations.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., use cases, workflows, process mapping, gap analysis).
  • Project management experience, with a track record of successfully delivering investment-related projects.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python) is an advantage.
