About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an Executive Sous Chef to lead the kitchen team at Park Hyatt Melbourne. You will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of all kitchens across the hotel, working closely with your team to ensure each kitchen operates in accordance with Park Hyatt standards whilst meeting employee, guest and owner expectations.

Main Responsibilities 

Hands on management of the day-to-day operations of the Kitchen Division Actively lead, coach and mentor all members of the team to ensure they are equipped to do their job while also developing them for the future Demonstrate Hyatt’s purpose of caring for people to be their best at all times while coaching heads of kitchens to embody the Hyatt values Develop new menus in line with brand standards while also demonstrating a passion for trying new culinary trends and seasonal ingredients Ensure that all kitchens are managed strictly in accordance with food safety and occupational health & safety standards Work closely with the sales and front of house teams to ensure that customer satisfaction is always exceeded Maximise revenue and manage all operational expenses in accordance with budgets

Qualifications

Previous experience as an Executive Sous Chef in a five-star hotel Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)  Exceptional leadership skills that creates an engaging colleague experience Strong interpersonal skills used to build effective relationships with all stakeholders Knowledge of the market, culinary trends and a flair for balancing brand standards with innovation Proven ability to prioritise the operational and administrative aspects of the role
