Karara Mining Limited (KML) is a joint venture between Gindalbie Metals Limited and AnSteel, one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

With an expected mine life of 30+ years, it will underpin a long-term iron ore business and provide sustainable benefits to the regional community in which we operate. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks.

We are seeking a highly capable Officer to assist the Flights and Accommodation function and team. This role will be responsible for booking flights and accommodation and other travel-related items, with a strong focus on providing the best possible experience for employees, contractors and visitors to the Karara mine site. To be considered for this role applicants must be able to demonstrate strong administration and organisational skills. Applicants must also have a solid background in the travel field.

 This position is based in Geraldton on a 5:2/4:3 full-time roster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the distribution of site communications and information bulletins
  • Assist and liaise with stakeholders to ensure timely responses to requests for information and assistance
  • Assist with the management of expenses, accommodation, travel bookings and any amendments in a timely manner
  • Process site entry forms and ensure compliances are obtained prior to the site visit
  • Support the administration component associated with site access and flights in relevant software systems
  • Identify any abnormalities or missing information associated with site access and flight submissions
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
  • Drive a positive workplace culture

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an Administrative and/or Secretarial position
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Proven experience using SAP, INX InFlight (or other similar systems) and data management systems
  • Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, typing accuracy and customer service with a high level of organisation skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
