Position Overview

The Employment Support Specialist will be dedicated to assisting individuals from Ex-Offender or Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds by providing comprehensive mentoring aimed at facilitating their successful transition into the workforce.

This is a full-time, ongoing position with a focus on work-life balance, featuring a 9-day fortnight schedule that includes a fixed day off every second week.

As a full-time employee, you will receive competitive remuneration along with the opportunity for salary packaging. This role presents a unique and rewarding opportunity, and we encourage interested candidates to submit their applications.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
  • The capability to engage effectively with a diverse range of clients, employers, and colleagues;
  • Strong interpersonal skills to represent Workskil Australia to various stakeholders including customers, funding bodies, employers, and Indigenous Communities;
  • A solid understanding of the local job market;
  • Familiarity with case management principles;
  • Experience in sales and customer service;
  • In-depth knowledge of federally funded Employment Programs and their funding structures;
  • Experience in mentoring Indigenous clients in employment settings;
  • Background in working with ex-offenders in employment or rehabilitation contexts;
  • A proven track record of thriving in outcome-oriented, high-pressure environments with a positive attitude.

Additionally, you will need to have:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a typing speed of at least 30 words per minute;
  • A Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development (preferred) or a willingness to pursue this qualification;
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, with a readiness to travel as required.

It is preferred that candidates identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or have substantial experience working with this demographic.

Compensation
