As a Senior Spatial Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in leading, managing and mentoring technical staff to achieve strategic outcomes aligned with Powerlink's spatial standards and procedures. This role will be integral in developing and maintaining spatial analysis and mapping products using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and related software. You will also:

Provide leadership and mentorship to Spatial Specialists and contractors to ensure adherence to technical standards and project frameworks. Plan, manage, and execute technical spatial workloads to contribute to Powerlink's project portfolio. Lead collaborative efforts to enhance Spatial Specialists' capabilities and foster a cohesive team environment. Coordinate stakeholders to optimize spatial environments and meet stakeholder needs efficiently. Champion the alignment with Enterprise Data Strategy and establish a Spatial Centre of Excellence. Manage the production of data, visualizations, and analytics to best practice design principles. Apply advanced spatial techniques and provide technical oversight for team projects. Facilitate data and information outcomes as directed to support program delivery.

Your expertise

Formal qualifications in Geographical Information Systems, Cartography, Spatial Information Science, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities. Proven ability to plan, manage, and execute complex technical projects. Proficiency in Geographical Information Systems and creating high-quality mapping products. Expertise in spatial analysis workflows and solving business problems. Experience in a utility/asset management industry is advantageous.
