Visitor Experience Officer

Join our team at the scenic Koala Conservation Reserve and Churchill Island

We are excited to offer:

  • Fixed term contract - until 30 April 2025
  • Multiple part time positions available with a minimum of 20 hours per fortnight.
  • 7-day roster (Monday to Sunday) & public holidays.
  • Scale 1 - $31.95 per hour inclusive of hourly allowance for 7-day roster (Mon to Sun) & public holidays

The role:

As a Visitor Experience Officer, you will create exceptional visitor experiences by delivering guided tours, presentations, learning programs, and various activities at Nature Parks’ attractions and reserves. You will lead interpretive walks and tours that highlight key conservation messages, inspiring people to act for conservation.

This position will primarily be based at the Koala Conservation Reserve and Churchill Island, with potential shifts at other sites such as the Nobbies centre and the Penguin Parade as needed.

Job Requirement

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated high level of experience in customer service
  • Previous experience in visitor engagement, sales and service duties within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to provide high quality customer service and information to a diverse range of visitors including non-English speaking visitors.
  • Experience in system use, point of sale, ticketing systems and cash handling
  • Intermediate computer skills including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proven ability to follow directions, de-escalate and resolve conflict and multi-task and prioritise in a diverse environment
  • Demonstrated communication and problem-solving skills

  • Working with Children Check
  • Drivers’ License
  • First Aid Level II and CPR
