Our client is a creative agency located in Surry Hills, Sydney, that specialises in content-led communication strategies designed to connect brands with their audiences through engaging and impactful storytelling.
They are seeking a dynamic Account Director to manage a diverse portfolio of client accounts across sectors such as retail, education, and financial services. The ideal candidate will act as the primary client liaison, overseeing the delivery of innovative strategies across creative, content, and digital channels. Additionally, this role involves managing the production and distribution of a major custom magazine with one of Australia’s largest circulations.
Key responsibilities include:
Client Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, understanding their business needs and challenges to deliver tailored solutions.
- Act as the primary contact for clients, ensuring smooth and successful project delivery for both print and digital formats.
Project Oversight
- Oversee the delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they meet client expectations, are on time, and within budget.
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules for all projects, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement innovative creative and digital strategies and campaigns that drive results.
- Monitor project performance, making adjustments as necessary to achieve client goals and optimise outcomes.
- Work with external contractors and freelancers to deliver to client briefs (producers, directors, writers, designers, photographers)
- Act as the main liaison between the agency, client, and all external vendors including production and distribution partners.
Team Leadership
- Foster a collaborative and positive working environment, encouraging cross-functional teamwork and creativity.
Business Development
- Identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts and lead efforts to secure additional business.
- Work with the Managing Director and Commercial Director to ensure the agency’s marketing materials and case studies are up to date.
Financial Management
- Oversee account budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and profitability is maximized.
- Review and approve budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, providing insights and recommendations to clients and internal teams.
Requirements include
- Minimum 5 years of experience in account management, with a solid understanding of marketing, creative, digital, and strategic planning.
- Proven track record in content management, including understanding the print publishing process from concept to completion.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing and mentoring teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex client issues with tact and professionalism.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Prior experience managing a magazine account would be a bonus.
