Job Description

This crucial role in the Data Consulting specialisation within the Data & AI Practice at NCS Australia combines deep understanding of business value creation with data and analytics to identify enterprise-level opportunities to unlock the true value of data. The Data Strategy Lead will define the necessary data capabilities for organisations to transform raw data into actionable insights efficiently. This includes creating actionable roadmaps to provide tangible recommendations. This role will provide thought leadership to senior client stakeholders and drive NCS Data Consulting engagements to deliver value from data and technology assets.

It requires a solid understanding of how data technologies can be leveraged to achieve business outcomes but is not focused on the technical details of those technologies.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar client or consulting role leading data strategy initiatives
  • Proven track record of driving business value through data in medium and large organizations
  • Expertise in business use case elicitation and workshop facilitation
  • Deep understanding of data capabilities, including people, processes, technology, and governance
  • Strong knowledge of data management areas such as metadata, master data, and reference data, and the ability to assess maturity
  • Demonstrated expertise in data governance with a focus on operationalization strategies
  • Experience with design-led approaches for use case elicitation, solution design, and deployment, with an emphasis on adoption
  • Proficiency in creating actionable roadmaps to provide tangible recommendations
  • Awareness of key trends such as Generative AI and Data Ethics, and the ability to apply these to relevant client problems
  • Conceptual understanding of cloud data service capabilities and their applications
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teams and clients
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, using tact and sensitivity
  • Results-driven and resilient under pressure
