Aboutthe role

TheInfrastructure and Operations Division is custodian of over $6B ininfrastructure assets across portfolios of: Transport, Stormwater,Open Space, Water, Wastewater, Waste, Cemeteries, Coastal,Buildings and Facilities assets. The management of these assetsrequires a large capital renewals program comprising hundreds ofvarious sized projects annually. In addition, continuing growth ofthe city drives the need for new infrastructure or upgrades toexisting infrastructure.

In this role you willmaintaina database of council owned and controlled leased buildings andfacilities, and licences including interests and orders over theland.

You will alsoreviewtenure applications and coordinate their assessment with allstakeholders and advise, negotiate and coordinate prospectivetenures and prepare, maintain, andmonitor lease and licence agreements to ensure compliance by bothparties, and assess and arrange renewal of agreements andeffectively manage arrears in rent.

Aboutyou

To be successful in thisrole you will require Tertiary qualifications inProperty or Real Estate, or extensive experience in CommercialLeasing within the Real Estate industry along with astrongunderstanding of leases and the ability to interpret leases,licenses and property documentation. You will need a current“C” class drivers’ licence.

You will havestrong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise andnegotiate terms with key stakeholders and community groups andother professionals in the property management area and havecompetentwritten communication skills with the ability to preparecorrespondence and documentation to a high standard, utilisingrelevant computer packages, including Microsoft Word andExcel.

You will havea high level of competency in time management, organisationalmanagement skills with the ability to prioritise concurrentactivities to meet deadlines and knowledge of buildingcompliance and leasing legalities associated with the relevantQueensland legislation. You will also have a demonstratedlevel ofproperty management skills including preliminary investigations,interpreting drawings and plans, financial management andreconciliation and analysing rates and charges along withexperience inthe management and coordination of a range of minor and mediumscale works on leased buildings.

Anunderstanding of Local Government property matters includingproperty management, sales, leasing, governance, legislation inparticular crown land and retail leases legislation, systems andprocedures would be highly regarded.
