Data Product Manager, Ad Operations

The Data team is responsible for providing easy to use data products and services to enable data-informed decision making, highly engaging consumer experiences and effective commercial products. We empower Nine to be Australia’s Media Company.
This role functions at the cross-section of Nine’s Ad Operations - the commercial heart of the business, where data plays a critical role in the value chain. Working closely with the Senior Data Product Manager, Ad Operations, you will be managing the end-to-end product lifecycle for data products covering ingestion, modelling, visualisation and ensuring effective data informed decision making across all levels of the organisation.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be comfortable with both technology and commercial domains. This role requires understanding the details of ad operations and data collection, modelling and analysis.
As an Data Product Manager, Ad Operations, you will:
Analyse and assess stakeholder requirements from the Ad Operations function to shape desired business outcomes and to develop solution options that consider the user experience, technical complexity, and ongoing cost / service requirements Drive requirements discovery and definition for Ad Operations data initiatives Provide clear and concise documentation for requirements and translate them into testable user stories and process flows Support the delivery process ( across sprints) for a dedicated data engineering squad, including inputting into iteration planning meetings and retrospectives Collaborate with the Data Engineering team in determining technical feasibility, producing solution designs and ultimately, a working data product Communicate any requirement dependencies, issues or risks identified through the analysis process Drive engagement with stakeholders to clarify requirements, confirm solution approach and to inform priorities Use data to identify actionable insights Demonstrate your problem solving abilities by driving and resolving issues that require cross-team investigation Use your SQL skills and experience with data visualisation to investigate, prioritise and enable communications with key stakeholders

What you’ll bring to the role:
A technology/information technology qualification, or relevant experience in an Agile environment Domain knowledge of ad operations/ad technology, preferably in the context of data and analytics Experience with business analysis in a data or advertising product / platform space Comfortable with SQL (with focus on data query language), experience with Python will also be valuable Previous experience with data visualisation tools ( Tableau, Power BI, Google Looker / Looker Studio) A natural curiosity and a growth mindset An ability to self-start, independently manage your workload, and multi-task with confidence A solid understanding of Agile delivery practices A methodical approach to problem solving The technical chops required to investigate issues, conduct analysis and collaborate on technical solutions The ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues
