Are you a trailblazer who thrives at the intersection of design and technology? Do you have a passion for creating scalable design systems, and coding those designs to perfection? Join our fast-evolving Product team as a Principal Product Technologist and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital experiences for two of Australia’s most loved and revered brands—Kmart Australia and Target Australia.

 

As a key member of our team, you'll go beyond traditional design. You'll harness your coding skills and deep understanding of design systems to create intuitive, engaging, and effective customer experiences. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Managers, designers, technologists, and other partners across the business. If you're driven by the challenge of combining human-centered design with robust coding practices, and you’re excited by the opportunity to lead the charge in innovative experiments that drive real value, we’d love to have you on board.

 

 

What You’ll Be Doing;

 

Design & Code

  • Craft and Implement - Design and code digital products that not only solve customer problems but also set new standards for engagement and usability. Your work will go beyond aesthetics, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible through innovative coding and design practices.

  • Drive Innovation - Lead the development of advanced design systems, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to ensure our products are not just beautifully designed but also functionally flawless and scalable.

  • Experiment & Lead - Be at the forefront of driving experiments that fuse design and technology, creating value that directly aligns with our business goals and customer needs.

 

Innovation & Integration:

  • Design Systems Leadership - Champion the development and adoption of atomic design principles, ensuring our design systems are as dynamic and flexible as our business demands. You’ll code, test, and iterate, turning concepts into functional, scalable systems.

  • Collaborate & Innovate - Work closely with cross-functional teams to harmonise tech feasibility, customer needs, and business objectives. You’ll be the bridge between design and engineering, ensuring seamless integration and innovative solutions.

  • Visionary Guidance - Establish and communicate a clear, forward-thinking design vision that supports our overarching product strategy. Your leadership will guide the roadmap for both Kmart and Target, setting the standard for design and technology integration.
