Founded in 1987, Retail Apparel Group (RAG) has over 500 stores in Australia and NZ across 5 successful brands, four menswear, one womenswear. The Johnny Bigg brand was established in 2014 and was created with the big and tall guy in mind. Recognising guys desire to be well dressed and comfortable, Johnny Bigg provides him with a one stop shop focusing on affordable, relevant fashion and footwear for the everyday guy, never compromising on quality, style or fit. The brand has a presence in Australia, New Zealand and the US.

About the Role

The Marketing & Social Specialist is accountable for all store marketing initiatives and activities, new store openings, supporting on campaign photoshoots, invoicing and developing the marketing calendar. They will also assist the Head of Marketing & Ecommerce on the development and implementation of marketing strategies and initiatives including managing Johnny Bigg’s Friends of the Brand ambassador program and social media.

Responsibilities

As the Marketing & Social Media Specialist you will:

  • Collaborate on Social strategy with Head of Marketing & be responsible for implementation.
  • Plan and develop engaging, creative, innovative content for social (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok) and analyse campaign results.
  • Build and manage the relationship with our Friends of Brand ambassador program.
  • Together with Head of Marketing create and maintain the seasonal marketing calendar.
  • Collaborate on local store marketing with retail coordinator to support seasonal and promotional activity.
  • Local store marketing: manage all store specific emails to support individual centre offers and outlet promotions.
  • New store support: coordinate activities for store openings, social, digital adverts and email communications to the local area. Review and report on all initiative’s measuring effectiveness.
  • Campaign and content photoshoot production. Assisting with campaign, look book, flat lay and video shoot requirements, logistics, samples, bookings, and post-production.
  • Manage seasonal look book, liaising with product and digital team on pricing, product descriptions and approvals, graphic designer on final version, and working with local printers to deliver to stores.
  • Maintain the marketing section of the intranet to ensure seasonally relevant.
  • Assist with budget tracking and invoicing, working closely with the accounts department.
  • Support Head of Marketing with any ad hoc requests and BAU activity.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a fast paced, fashion retail marketing role
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly, using facts and analysis to support the business case
  • Ability to think on your feet, making newsworthy content relevant to the brand to maximise exposure
  • Be highly organized, motivated and process driven, with amazing attention to detail
  • A natural problem solver, with a ‘can-do’ solution focused attitude, not afraid of a challenge
  • Multi-tasker, able to manage workflow and meet deadlines, autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
