About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior SMSF Accountant to join our team. As a Senior SMSF Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing all aspects of SMSF administration, compliance, and reporting. This position requires strong technical expertise in SMSF accounting and tax legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Set up Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and supporting clients in achieving their retirement goals.
  • Manage a portfolio of complex SMSFs specializing in real estate property investments.
  • Perform all aspects of the SMSF lifecycle, including fund establishment, ongoing administration, annual audit preparation, and taxation.
  • Prepare and lodge annual financial statements, tax returns, and other required compliance documents.
  • Analyse financial data and provide clients with clear and concise reports on their SMSF performance.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between property strategists and brokers to ensure alignment on client objectives and a smooth workflow.
  • Liaise with clients, investment advisors, and other stakeholders to address inquiries, explain complex financial concepts, and gather necessary information.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest legislative and regulatory changes affecting SMSFs, particularly those related to real estate investments.
  • Proactively identify and address potential compliance risks and opportunities for clients.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient processes and procedures for SMSF administration.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and build trust through excellent communication and service. 

Qualifications:

  • CPA qualification or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with SMSFs, with a specialization in real estate property investments.
  • Strong understanding of Australian tax laws and regulations relating to SMSFs and real estate.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality work with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and explain complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and SMSF administration software.
