Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior SMSF Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of SMSF administration, compliance, and reporting.

Salary Range:

The estimated salary for this position is between $100,000 to 150,000 + Superannuation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishment and Ongoing Administration: Set up Self-Managed Superannuation Funds, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and supporting clients in achieving their retirement goals.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of complex SMSFs specializing in real estate property investments.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Perform all aspects of the SMSF lifecycle, including fund establishment, annual audit preparation, and taxation.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Analyse financial data and provide clients with clear and concise reports on their SMSF performance.
  • Client Communication: Liaise with clients, investment advisors, and other stakeholders to address inquiries, explain complex financial concepts, and gather necessary information.
  • Legislative Updates: Stay up-to-date with the latest legislative and regulatory changes affecting SMSFs, particularly those related to real estate investments.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Proactively identify and address potential compliance risks and opportunities for clients.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient processes and procedures for SMSF administration.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain strong relationships with clients and build trust through excellent communication and service.

Qualifications:

  • Accounting Qualification: CPA qualification or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience working with SMSFs, with a specialization in real estate property investments.
  • Tax Knowledge: Strong understanding of Australian tax laws and regulations relating to SMSFs and real estate.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and explain complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and SMSF administration software.
