The Business Assurance and Risk Management teams supports a culture of assurances through coordinating risk management and internal auditing activities to support Council to identify, manage and report its risks appropriately. The team is part of the Corporate Performance Department, who have a business partnering approach with our internal stakeholders, supporting them through a range of organisation planning and reporting matters.

In this role you will be empowered and supported to ensure organsiational risk reporting and business assurance (internal audits) practices occur in line with expectations. 

About the Position

The role supports the embedding of a strong risk management and reporting culture at Council, and oversees a number of business assurance endeavours, This includes:

administration of risk reporting and analysis adminstration of the internal audit contract, including overseeing this relationship  administrative support to the Audit and Risk Committee, Risk Management Committee and Fraud and Corruption Prevention Control Group system administration and support to our internal customers.

Skills and Experience

Ability to lead processes with a large amount of autonomy, including recommendation to improve practices and processes Strong attention to detail and ability to meet agreed timeframes. Experience in risk management and/or business assurance teams is advantageous, but not essential.

Requirements

Satisfactory National Police Check; and Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.
