MARS are partnering with a large and listed company that boast a global presence and have household brands under their umbrella. They're looking to hire a Senior Financial Accountant on a permanent basis to join their high performing and vibrant team. This role is responsible for supporting the financial reporting and consolidation process to deliver internal and external financial reporting under US GAAP and IFRS.

The Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for quarterly and year-end US GAAP reporting including owning the consolidation process for the Australian business and investments.
  • Ensure the Group financial reporting and accounting teams implement necessary accounting processes for accurate financial reporting.
  • Overseeing the annual reporting and financial statement preparation in accordance with IFRS.
  • Assist in the provision of technical accounting guidance to the group on unique or complex accounting transactions relating to US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Accountable for leading efforts to streamline processes and implement ongoing improvements, aiming to establish an optimal finance function based on best practices.
  • Contribute to maintaining a strong internal control environment compliant with SOX.
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors to make necessary recommendations.
  • Offer guidance and coaching to support the development of junior team members.

The Requirements:

  • CA/CPA qualified with 4+ years across in a similar finance function.
  • Ideally Big 4 or Mid-Tier trained with subsequent commercial experience.
  • Previous financial reporting experience involving the consolidation of large and complex groups (essential).
  • Strong experience with US GAAP and IFRS is highly preferred.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and build strong relationships.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and communications skills - both written and verbal.
  • Experience managing financial consolidation systems - OneStream is beneficial.
  • Motivated high performer with ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.

To Note:

  • Experience in consolidating financial statements is required for this role.
  • Previous experience in the Big 4 or Mid-Tier Audit field with subsequent commercial experience is highly desired.
  • They operate a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
