MARS are partnering with a large and listed company that boast a global presence and have several household brands under their umbrella. They're looking to hire a Senior Tax Accountant on a permanent basis to join their high performing and vibrant team.

Overview:

Reporting directly to the Head of Tax, this role will support with tax preparation and compliance for the Group as well as providing tax advice and managing regulatory reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation of direct and indirect tax compliance requirements for the Australian tax group including GST, FBT, and income tax.
  • Responsible for quarterly tax forecasting and year-end income tax reporting.
  • Advise stakeholders on a range of tax-related matters, providing expert tax guidance.
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of tax operations.
  • Support the management of reviews conducted by tax regulatory authorities.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation to ensure internal processes remain compliant with current tax laws.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

The Requirements:

  • CA/CPA qualified with 4+ years relevant experience.
  • Comprehensive tax experience in a mid-tier chartered firm or a large, complex corporate environment (essential).
  • Proven experience in preparing GST, FBT, corporate tax returns, and other compliance obligations, with preferred knowledge and experience in tax effect accounting.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly and concisely conveying complex information.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Proficient with various tax software's.
  • A self-motivated, high performer with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

To Note:

  • Experience in a Mid-Tier chartered firm or a large, complex corporate environment is essential.
  • They operate a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
  • Only Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents or long-term visa holders will be considered for this role.
