Role Overview
In the role of Financial Accountant, you will be reporting directly to the Finance Manager. Your primary duties will encompass overseeing month-end closing processes, managing aspects of management accounting, and conducting meticulous balance sheet reconciliations, all within strict timeframes. Your extensive experience in handling statutory reporting and asset management will be pivotal in ensuring precise records and reporting.
Your innate drive to influence and make significant contributions across all accounting functions will naturally shine through. Responsibilities
- Provide support for the Finance Manager in the areas of monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reporting
- Supervise the Assistant Accountant and ensure accurate and timely results
- Complete monthly accruals, prepayment and allocation journals
- Drive accurate and piercing insights through the P&L review
- Prepare the balance sheet account reconciliations
- Provide accurate and timely reporting to the business in line with Australian Accounting Standards and Statutory requirements
- Assist in the preparation of yearly financial and statutory reporting
- Prepare and lodge the FBT return
- Assist in audit processes as required
- Other accounting and business review functions as required
Candidate Profile
You are a qualified CA/CPA accountant with three years of experience in financial accounting. You are adept at utilizing technology, particularly in the context of P&L commentary and extensive data manipulation.
The successful candidate will be a logical, analytical thinker who excels in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. It is your unwavering positive attitude, coupled with an energetic approach that demonstrates your robust technical skills. You thrive under pressure, maintaining professionalism and effectiveness.
As a system-savvy professional, your proficiency in Excel (including sumifs, pivot tables, index, v-look ups) and experience with BI reporting and TM1 sets you apart. Your problem-solving prowess and keen attention to detail showcase your initiative.
