Leading Bank is seeking a dedicated Data Governance Analyst to join our Enterprise Data team within the Information Office. As a Data Steward, you will collaborate closely with your manager to lead the execution of the Data Management roadmap. Your efforts will help reduce risk, improve data quality, and achieve the outcomes of their strategy.

You will play an integral part in bringing to life our 'Critical Data Asset' cycle, focusing on using your skills to drive and support the team. You will use data quality tools and processes to support, direct, and enable business stakeholders to manage their data effectively and with confidence. You will also mentor other Data Stewards, helping to embed the Data Management Framework within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of the Data Management roadmap.
  • Utilize data quality tools to support business stakeholders.
  • Mentor other Data Stewards.
  • Embed the Data Management Framework.
  • Ensure data is trusted and available for business decisions.
  • Collaborate with various teams within the Information Office.

Essential:

  • 2-3 years of commercial experience in a similar data steward role.
  • Intermediate understanding of the data quality lifecycle.
  • Proficient in data discovery and data profiling.
  • Intermediate experience with Excel/SQL and Power BI (or equivalent tools).
  • Solid experience with data quality/governance tools.
  • Understanding of Information Management principles.
  • Awareness of Australian financial industry regulations and legislation related to data, privacy, and risk (e.g., APRA, ASIC, FAR, OAIC, AML/CTF legislation, GDPR).
  • Familiarity with data management and governance frameworks and standards (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, ISO, CPGs).
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in business, finance, IT, or information management.
  • Qualifications covering data quality, data governance, or data stewardship.

Desirable:

Programming skills (e.g., Python, R or SQL)

Experience maintaining alignment to Data Management Framework requirements in projects, programs, and BAU.
