Bluefin Resources are working with a prestigious government enterprise to recruit a Data Governance Analyst for an initial contract to 30th June 2023 with further extensions.

**About the Team**
The Energy Data & Analytics branch is technically focused, supporting data analysis for the Office of Energy and Climate Change. The branch covers all aspects of energy policy, analysing the national electricity market, supporting the Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, evaluating energy programs and supporting high-quality data management across the Net Zero Plan portfolio.

**About the Opportunity**
The Net Zero Plan Stage 1: 2020-2030 is the foundation for NSW's action on climate change and goal to reach net zero emissions by 2050. Having high-quality data available in the right format at the right time is crucial to make informed decisions about the Net Zero Plan. The role supports the implementation of a data governance framework for the Net Zero Plan.

This role requires an understanding of data management, business processes, and how technology can be used to support data collection and reporting. This role works across multiple stakeholders to deliver a robust, customer-centric framework. Our stakeholders include programs delivering under the Net Zero Plan and responsible executives.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop and build strong data governance in an important are making a difference to the people of NSW. It also provides an opportunity to build stakeholder management and communication skills.

**Key responsibilities of the role will include**:

- Create and conduct governance processes to measure data management and data quality maturity across various domains
- Create, update & support policies, standards, and processes related to data management, quality, access, and security are followed in all environments. Create repeatable data management processes within Data Governance
- Work with stakeholders to understand, prioritise, and document business and technical needs, and to ensure alignment with DG strategy
- Support the implementation of a new data lineage, metadata & reference data management framework and technology solution (Data Architecture Phase II). Utilise this solution to identify, initiate and champion improvements in data quality, sustainability and security.
- Contribute to the management of a portfolio of data governance initiatives. This includes the development of concepts, business cases, project planning, and delivery.
- Maintain strong relationships with the group data management (IPM & SES) and delivery teams
- Creation of some simple reports, data visualisations and dashboards using PowerBI;
**About You**
You have experience working in data management and/or quality management systems. You have effective communication and collaboration skills to engage with a variety of stakeholders. Prior experience in PowerBI or other visualisation tools is highly valued. Experience in energy or emissions data is useful but not required. Please note this role focuses on the processes around data management rather than direct data analysis.

- Establish working relationships with various stakeholders to facilitate commitment to the project purpose and outcomes.
