EMI is looking for a Senior Manager- Marketing & Artist Development to join the broader EMI team. This is a unique opportunity to create high impact both within UMA, and our wider music community. Reporting to the General Manager- EMI, this position will be fundamental in supporting our artists to succeed locally and internationally.

About the role:

  • To develop and implement innovative, creative, and successful marketing strategies and campaigns for an allocated roster of artists and their music.
  • A focus on developing artist audiences using a range of strategies across content, social channels, CRM, product development and more.
  • A focus on driving and maximising our domestic repertoire globally – identifying target audiences in key markets and developing global strategy with localised plans to drive awareness and consumption.
  • To act as an integral member of the team with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Consistently improve and develop both your skills and the artist/label’s results
  • Monitor and analyse audience data, the impact of marketing and effectiveness to ensure we are using the most effective methods and investing appropriately to maximise commercial performance.

About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing or similar area of study
  • +3 years professional experience as a Marketing Manager in the Music/Entertainment industry the communications landscape.
  • Think creatively, analytically and be tenacious in your drive for results
  • Be the custodian for EMI and our artists and the primary communicator/advocate both within and outside the company for your roster.
  • Collaborate with A&R, Media, Marketing, Creative, Commercial colleagues to fully deliver on an artist vision
  • Understanding of how and an ability to target audiences with our artists & their music
  • Understanding of the Australian & Global music landscape
  • Act as an integral member of the EMI team to consistently improve and develop own skills as well as the Department’s results and exploit every opportunity to its full potential
  • Build and maintain relationships across the industry with partners, media, influencers, and anyone else that will help us build audiences for our artists
  • ‘Thirst for knowledge’ – take a genuine interest in learning and exploring new content forms and channels, about market trends, culture, media usage and consumption and implementing in campaigns.
