The Role
The Deputy Director of Assurance, under the direction of the Director of Engineering, JSD, will lead a small audit and assurance team and be responsible for coordinating and performing engineering assurance, governance, auditing and corporate reporting activities across the Division.

The Deputy Director of Assurance will have an understanding of the Technical Regulatory Frameworks (TRF’s) and standards of practice; and have an in-depth knowledge of the internal audit process. You will, on behalf of the Director of Engineering, lead the strategic review of Engineering Management Systems (EMS) in the Joint Systems Domain (JSD) in the areas of strategic and business planning, performance measurement and continuous improvement.

You will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability to achieve outcomes. You will have demonstrable experience in planning and conducting audits, building and sustaining effective relationships with team members, management and stakeholders, tailoring communication style and language according to the audience.

About our Team
The Directorate of Engineering, JSD, is responsible and accountable for the Governance and Assurance (G&A) of the Engineering & Technical Function across the Joint Systems Division. In addition to the G&A role the Directorate is also responsible to providing support to stakeholders by providing a central POC representing the interests of Joint Domain is engineering community.

The Directorate delivers outcomes based on three main teams, in addition to managing the self-assessment program and providing CASG functional support for Joint Domain: 

E&T EMS Compliance and Assurance (this is the team you will lead) E&T Reform & Professionalisation E&T Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP) The EMS Compliance and Assurance Team provides specialist internal audit services to JSD SPO's in support of Accredited Engineering Organisation accreditations.
The Team conducts engineering governance audits verifying that engineering processes are compliant with approved policy and guidance; identifying opportunities for process improvement and providing governance assurance to the JSD Executive.
