Our client is a community focussed local council, currently seeking an experienced Payroll Team Leader to join their growing team.
In this full-time permanent position, you’ll be reporting directly to the Financial Operations Manager and will be responsible for managing the end-to-end Payroll function. As part of this role, you will demonstrate excellent leadership and people management skills as will be responsible for overseeing the function and leading a team of 5 payroll specialists.
This is a council with a long-standing history and a diverse workforce, experience working in a large and complex environment will be highly desirable and benefit you in this role. The organisation is also going through a period of growth and process improvement, so if you enjoy a challenge and working on BAU and Projects, this is a great opportunity for you.
Main responsibilities;
- Manage the entire end-to-end Payroll function to produce a fortnightly payroll service to the organisation.
- Promote a culture of high performance, integrity and professionalism within your team.
- Partner with key business stakeholders to continually transform the payroll function.
- Project manage all payroll related projects including the coordination of payroll system enhancements, upgrades and testing.
- Work closely with the Financial Operations Manager and the Financial Services Leadership Group, to meet the strategic objectives.
To be successful in this role, you will have a deep understanding of the complete payroll function and demonstrated experience in a Snr Payroll position. You will have a customer focussed mindset and will be a person people feel comfortable working with and learning from. Experience working in large, complex organisation with multiple awards is highly desirable.
