Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME’s) are responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the fleet.

This position involves troubleshooting, conducting routine and non-routine maintenance, and performing repairs on various aircraft systems and components in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.

The AME ensures that all maintenance activities comply with safety and airworthiness standards, with a focus on preventing mechanical failure and minimizing operational downtime.

Unlicensed AME Employees are responsible to the Engineering Manager through the Senior Engineering Staff for:

Performing all duties in a safe and effective manner with due diligence to the requirements of Company procedures (SMS and CPPM) and health and safety legislation;

Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the organization’s procedures, and where an anomaly is noted with a procedure then that anomaly is reported;

Carrying out such tasks as directed whilst ensuring that the highest standards of workmanship are maintained;

Ensuring personal awareness of all the latest amendments to Company procedures/manuals and all other technical data provisioned;

Ensuring that they use current and applicable ICA to carry out their work, that they only use controlled copies of documents and that they verify documents where reasonable doubt as to their currency exists;

Accurately recording of any work carried out;

Prompt reporting of any defective Company equipment or tooling;

Participation in the Safety Management System (AIRS) reporting of all accidents, incidents, hazards and near misses.

Advising their Senior Engineer (SS or 2IC) when requirements specified in the Exposition, other engineering manuals and procedures require amendment, and assist with the preparation of those amendments;

Liaising with DAMP Supervisor(s) immediately following an accident or incident or in the case of suspected drug/alcohol use;

Cleanliness and tidiness of his work area;

Using their knowledge, skills and ability to fulfil these day-to-day tasks, and;

Any other duties as instructed and appropriate to the job's function and the incumbent’s skills.

AME’s are employed on a rotating roster basis:

7 days on 7 days off – 11- hour day

Travel may be required, especially in AOG situations.

Aircraft Maintenance will require work in hangars, on the ramp, or in other outdoor environments.

Relevant Trade certificate.

Demonstrated time management skills.

High level of communication skills – written and verbal.

Demonstrated problem-solving ability.

Ability to work within a team environment.

Computer skills – Airworthiness Data – CASA; Company network.

Must have the ability to obtain and hold an ASIC.

Must have the ability to obtain and hold an Airside Drivers Licence.

Hold current Passport.

Human Factors Training.

An understanding of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations applicable to Certificate of Approvals.

At least 5 years' experience in aircraft maintenance.

Experience on Embraer aircraft is desirable.

Experience at Perth Airport is desirable.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

High attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.

Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
