Our Opportunity:

This is an exciting chance for an experienced individual to join our established team of estimators. The ideal candidate will be motivated to learn and adapt to Star Group’s procedures and systems. This position offers the opportunity to further your estimating experience across the diverse areas that Star Group specializes in. It is a deadline-driven role that requires high attention to detail and accuracy to ensure all project elements are estimated according to standards, project specifications, and tender documentation.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Complete estimates independently for Star Group bids and projects.
  •  Working as part of a team on all tenders.
  • Deliver accurate and quality submissions for bids.
  • Attention to detail in reviewing tender documentation and making accurate allowances.
  • Deliver and manage tenders within tight deadlines.
  • Provide estimates using Star Group estimating systems and processes. This includes using Star Group estimating software.
  • Estimating Design and Construct tenders.
  • Estimating across several disciplines, including Electrical Construction, Industrial, Fitout, and Communications.

 About You:

  • Electrical trade or relevant qualifications (essential).
  • Experience in a qualified electrical trade position in construction (Preferred).
  • Experience in a previous estimating position in the electrical construction/industrial industry.
  • Experience in using estimating software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy over long periods.
  • Experience with prioritising and meeting deadlines within short notice
  • Experience in bid and tender processes.
  • Ability to work with clients professionally and achieve clients' requirements.
  • Ability to think outside the square and experience in value engineering.
