Minda is the largest not-for-profit intellectual disability service provider and employer in SA, providing home and living services, housing, children’s services, short term respite accommodation, supported employment, day programs and community support, and allied health therapy.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Group Manager People and Culture, this role is responsible for operational HR support and coaching in a true partnering role. You will build strong collaborative partnerships across a diverse range of stakeholders to assist delivery of the strategic plan and contribute to planning for future requirements.

As an experienced and skilled trusted advisor, you will have the ability to guide and influence positive change to support achievement of our key objective, which is to add value to the lives of people with intellectual disability that we support. Your success will be determined by your forward thinking and partnering approach, combined with your desire to shape the HR brand with a positive and can-do attitude.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing timely day-to-day HR advice, support, and coaching to managers and team members, including employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, talent acquisition and development, compliance, and culture.
  • Ensuring EA’s, other industrial instruments, and Minda’s Policies and Procedures are interpreted and implemented correctly and in a consistent manner.
  • Managing and coordinating the recruitment process, including but not limited to defining job profiles, posting roles, screening CV’s, interviewing, assessing candidate fit, and onboarding.
  • Partnering with key stakeholders to support and promote People and Culture projects and initiatives.
  • Supporting the preparation of HR reports, including monthly Board reporting.
  • Maintaining compliance requirements for your portfolio.
  • Assisting with workforce capability development activities such as developing and providing training in a range of human resource and people management matters.
  • Partnering with managers and work areas to identify and develop key talent.

To be successful in this role you will be:

  • A strong relationship builder and communicator, focused on delivering internal value and exceeding client expectations.
  • Experienced in employee and industrial relations, with a solid understanding of relevant Australian employment legislation.
  • Passionate about developing the skills and knowledge of frontline managers to assist them becoming more effective leaders.
  • Able to demonstrate partnering experience where exercising strategic insight and commercial acumen enabled delivery of measurable business outcomes.

Additionally, you will require:

  • NDIS Workers Screening Clearance and Working with Children Clearance
  • Valid and unrestricted South Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Qualifications in HR or relevant Business Discipline
