Are you ready to make a significant impact in your career? We’re seeking a dynamic and skilled Specification Manager to join our Melbourne team. If you’re passionate about architecture and design and eager to drive specifications for our innovative products, this role is your chance to shine

As a Specification Manager at Laminex, you’ll play a crucial role in gaining and maintaining specifications within the architecture and design space. You’ll identify market demand and execute sales strategies to enhance our presence and growth, all while covering for a key team member on maternity leave.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Gaining and maintaining specification on Commercial projects
  • Proactively target Architects and Interior Designers to secure specifications that are created through consultative selling and understanding the designers’ requirements.
  • Growth of existing accounts to maximise our service offering to our customers.
  • Building rapport and trust within the industry, networking at industry events and exhibitions whilst positioning yourself as a trusted advisor
  • Monitoring specification through to the transactional execution of the sale
  • Work alongside internal stake holders to ensure the optimum level of service is provided to clients.
  • Conducting professional CPD and portfolio presentations to architects and designers that showcase Laminex’s capabilities to the audience. 
  • Provide Laminex product & brand expertise and education, and the ability to adapt our offering to the differing needs & drivers of individual stakeholder businesses.
  • Effective communication & activity around New Product Development (NPD) launches and any relevant insights or trends.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

You will ideally have:

  • A high level of autonomy and self-management skills in order to achieve specification and KPI targets.
  • Experience with consultative and conceptual selling to architects, designers and building professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify clients’ needs. 
  • Enthusiasm and exceptional communication skills to bring to this position coupled with the ability to prioritise customer needs and value manage projects throughout the end-to-end sales process.
  • The ability to think strategically and can look for growth opportunities.
  • The ability to build rapport and relationships quickly.
  • A team player and collaborative attitude
  • High level of computer literacy using computer systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, salesforce.com, and PowerPoint to enter data, process, and present information.
  • Sales or BDM experience 
  • An existing strong network of architectural and specification professionals is advantageous.
  • Interior Design/Design or building industry expertise is advantageous.
