Job Description

We currently have a rare and exciting opportunity for a National Sales Manager – Leisure and Wholesale to join our team at Minor Hotels on a full-time basis. 

This position will play a pivotal role in amplifying revenue streams across Minor Hotels properties throughout Australia and New Zealand, with a focus on growing sales within the leisure market segment and wholesale distribution channels.

Responsible for managing national accounts, domestic and international leisure wholesalers, inbound tour operators and independent travel agencies, this position will be instrumental in driving commercial outcomes and strengthening the ongoing expansion of Minor Hotels in Australasia.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain and increase leisure wholesale account production across all Minor Hotels properties
  • Regularly engage leisure wholesale partners and align sales activities providing trade updates, sourcing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong working relationships
  • Source leads and grow pipeline of new opportunities across leisure market segment
  • In partnership with the revenue team, increase leisure wholesale account revenue for all properties across Minor Hotels
  • Act as primary account manager for all leisure wholesaler partners
  • Assist with the development of sales planning in conjunction with the Director of Leisure and Wholesale, and execute key strategic actions to drive revenue and increase length of stay
  • Represent Minor Hotels at various trade events including trade shows, training opportunities, online webinars and industry functions
  • Maintain awareness of market rates for serviced apartments, specifically local competitor rates, paying attention to the leisure market.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Leisure and Wholesale, analyse forward occupancy in advance and proactively plan to fill priority properties during slow periods
  • Acquire, develop and maintain contact with assigned leisure agencies with face-to-face or telephone contact to maximize all business opportunities

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • 3-5 years’ of hands-on experience in a sales/ business development role within a Hotel environment 
  • Proven track record of success in increasing sales and fostering business growth
  • Exceptional communication skills, demonstrated by the ability to cultivate strong professional relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Superior attention to detail, coupled with effective time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to tackle challenges creatively and effectively
  • A professional demeanour, coupled with a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment
  • Flexibility to travel domestically when required
