Trades Assistant/ Logistics Team Member

Ventia has partnered with Energy Queensland Limited (EQL) to provide distribution, maintenance, and construction services. For more than a decade, Ventia has worked to deliver over $250 million of electricity and gas transmission and distribution (T&D) projects across Australia.
About the Role
We are seeking a Trade Assistant / Logistics Team Member to join our team in Rockhampton. The successful applicant will work collaboratively as part of a team, have a ‘can do’ attitude and ability to create a positive work environment.
Hours per day are 6.30am – 3.05pm working a 9 day fortnight with an RDO every 2 weeks.
Key responsibilities will include, but not limited:
- Maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders
- Be responsible for warehouse & depot presentation, layout, and compliance to safety standards
- Maintain effective documentation, data entry & reporting requirements.
- Be efficient with computer systems & programs including email, word & excel (training can be provided)
- Receive and process goods i.e. PPE, stock, equipment, tooling and materials and check against manifest to ensure accuracy.
- Collection, loading/unloading of vehicles, shipment and delivery of materials to warehouses, site locations (such as Mackay and Blackwater) etc
Qualifications & Skills
- Drivers licence (HR) - essential
- Current Forklift licence & proven experience - essential
- Knowledge of Vehicle Loading Cranes - desirable
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to lift and pack light and heavy items
- Friendly, helpful nature with self-motivation and initiative
- Enthusiasm for learning new skills, products, systems, and processes
- Effective communication skills with customers and team members
- Willingness to improve processes and adapt to change
- Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets and word processing
